Short answer

If the Derila ERGO is the wrong fit, the reason usually points straight at the alternative. Too low for your shoulders, or you are unsure of your height need — look at adjustable shredded-fill pillows you can add to or remove from. Too warm — look at latex or ventilated designs with breathable covers. Too small — look at a standard-size contour pillow. Too firm — look at a softer contour or a fibre pillow.   1. Height, measured while compressed, against the gap your frame and mattress create.
  2. Adjustability — can you change the loft after you buy it?
  3. Firmness and how well the pillow holds height through the night.
  4. Temperature: solid foam holds heat, and the cover only does so much.
  5. Written return terms, including who pays return postage.
