Unwrap the pillow, let it expand and air, then follow the supplied orientation guidance and check that the ridge supports rather than forces your neck. Use a close-fitting case and assess comfort over several nights, while keeping the return deadline in view. Stop if symptoms appear or worsen rather than treating discomfort as something you must push through.

First day: unwrap, expand, air

  1. Remove all packaging and lay the pillow flat in a ventilated room.
  2. Give it several hours to reach full shape — compressed foam expands gradually.
  3. If you notice a new-foam smell, leave it uncovered for longer before first use.
  4. Fit the supplied cover, or a case sized close to the pillow’s dimensions.

Getting the orientation right

Follow the supplied orientation diagram: the raised edge is intended to support the neck and the recess to receive the head, with the flat face against the mattress. If that setup forces the neck rather than supporting it, the fixed shape may not fit you.

Bed setup

  • Use one pillow, not two stacked — stacking cancels out the contour.
  • Slide it close to your shoulders so there is no gap under your neck.
  • Softer mattresses let your shoulder sink further, which effectively raises the pillow; account for that.
  • Avoid sealed waterproof protectors if you sleep warm; they trap heat against solid foam.

The adjustment period

Changing pillow shape can feel unfamiliar for several nights, but there is no verified universal adjustment period for this product. Use the same setup long enough to judge it while staying inside the return window. Mild unfamiliarity may settle; increasing pain, numbness, weakness or headaches are reasons to stop and reassess.

When to stop using it

Stop and reassess if you develop persistent neck or shoulder pain, headaches on waking, tingling or numbness in your arms or hands, or worsening sleep after a fair trial. Those are signals to change pillow, not to push through.
